Did you know I used to be a graphic designer?

Wow that was a long time ago, 10 years to be exact. I used to work in the print shop industry doing very technical fast paced graphic design work. I was good at it and liked it for a long time. BUT…it wasn’t fulfilling my love for creating art. I was fixing other peoples art for print instead of creating it. Ya, sometimes I would be able to design some signs or a huge billboard, which was cool. Or I would create something that was up in Boston or local team sports. However, that wasn’t enough and I wanted more. That is where my photography career bloomed! I found that spark in creating again and the rest was history. I have been a successful photographer for 10 years and absolutely love it!

Another amazing family I have been photographing for a few years now. Their little man is more on the serious side and doesn’t love getting his photos taken. I just saw them again for their sunflower mini session and he was purposely turning his face away lol. Anyways, I love this moment dad tried getting him to smile by lifting him over his head like an airplane and another him tossing him into the air. These are amazing ways to capture them without necessarily looking and smiling at the camera. And I’ll let kids explore and interact with the location to capture fun lifestyle photos. And look, I got that amazing photo of him throwing the rock into the water. So much fun!

Meghan was so excited to do her son’s cake smash session. She had such a sweet idea of printing a photo from his newborn session and sitter session to have on either side of him for some clean simple portraits before the cake smash. This is an amazing way to see how much he has grown. What was even more special is at the end I asked if mom and dad wanted to sit next to him while he smashed the cake. It was so adorable how he was sharing!!

It even happens to photographers! All of my professional photos for the past 2 years have been sitting on my computer not being looked at. Deciding to add full printing services in my photography business made me realize I have fallen victim to saying, “oh ya I need to get those printed” and then a year goes by. Those are memories I have with my daughter that aren’t being enjoyed. My own services have helped me to actually get those printed and framed so beautifully. I’m so glad I did it and now we’ll be able to see them in her playroom. (lol, the prints you see in the back of the room are when we first got married and luckily I did print her newborn photos. That's it though!)

This session was a smash!!

Mom, Michelle, wanted to start of her daughter’s cake smash session with a few family photos, which I usually love to do against my white paper for a classic feel. Then we moved onto clean photos in the setup. You have to do clean ones first, once they smash the cake there is no coming back lol. Then it was time for the cake and she loved smashing and eating it. She did an amazing job and gave us a bunch of smiles. But even her serious face is adorable!
